Shower Gel Sachet
Implementation of a packaging design as a giveaway for trade fairs and events
The partners involved wanted to create a packaging that showcases the effectiveness of each individual product. The idea for the shower gel sachet arose because it's a portable gift that's easy to pocket and send. A QR code links to further information on the landing page of PackagingCompetence. Cooperation: Turning challenges into opportunities
The challenge in this project lay in developing a packaging solution that was both practical and appealing for use at trade fairs and events. The sachets needed to reflect the quality of the product inside, while also being easy to distribute and cost-efficient in production. In addition, the design had to leave enough flexibility so that multiple partners could use the packaging for their own purposes, ensuring visibility and recognition across different channels.
Our competence
From the initial design concept to the final printed sachet, this project demonstrates our broad expertise. We manage the entire process in-house: from layout development and material selection to high-quality printing and custom die-cutting. This seamless workflow ensures efficiency, precision, and creative freedom—making it possible to deliver packaging that is both functional and visually striking.
Layout
The visual design of the packaging is created by U. Günther Prepress. Starting with a keen eye for detail and expertise in print design, they also contribute with sustainable solutions in Prepress. Their IMPULSE SCREENING raster technology gives a new, extremely high-quality print resolution, and at the same time, with the use of ECG (Extended Colour Gamut), they reduce printing plates and ink consumption.
High-performance film
Petroplast supplies the triplex laminate film, a recyclable Mono PP structure that the packer can use in their well-known environment and application.
The inner layer starts sealing at very low temperatures to ensure a good machineability and enhanced sealing. The metallized film in the middle layer gives the best possible support for the product by having high barrier properties, keeping oxygen and light out of the pack. The outer layer is a standard PP film that can be easily printed. It can also be quipped with a matt surface or corona treatment to apply partial varnish.
This high-performance film helps to produce a “Made for Recycling” packing with similar properties to a Pet/ALU/PE film that cannot be recycled.
Environmentally conscious water-based printing inks
The Follmann water-based printing inks were used in the sachet project. In this project, too, Follmann impressed with exceptional product quality, brilliant and environmentally friendly inks, and outstanding print performance. These inks enable high production efficiency while maintaining cost effectiveness.
Flexo printing plates
Miraclon provides the FLEXCEL plates, which deliver unparalleled consistency in imaging, eliminate variables in plate production, and deliver the 100% precision required for optimized, predictable ink transfer, enhancing print efficiency on every job.
Mounting tapes and sleeves
tesa has supported us with its experience in plate mounting tapes and self-adhesive sleeves. With the right combination of foams, adhesives, and liners, we find the perfect match for our printing results.
Anilox roller
The perfect interaction between the Zecher anilox roller and the Bobst printing machine ensures the excellent quality of the sachet's print results.
Printing process
The printing itself is carried out on a Bobst printing machine, ensuring high precision and efficiency. As a leading technology provider, Bobst’s involvement guarantees top-level performance and state-of-the-art production standards.
Sachets
Lohnpack, the specialist for side sealed packaging solutions, produces the sachets with the printed sheets supplied from Bobst using their own designed die-cuts. With well-founded competence and consistent quality management, the quality of the sachets is guaranteed.
